About Crave Locally

Crave Locally is an agritourism discovery and booking platform connecting visitors with wineries, farms, breweries, lodging, dining, and other countryside experiences across Northern Virginia.

With support from Loudoun County, Crave Locally is developing a comprehensive and highly structured database of local agritourism venues designed to make it easier for visitors to discover experiences that match their specific needs and interests.

At the center of this work is Crave Locally's proprietary venue database, which captures 214 structured data fields per venue and supports personalized discovery, itinerary development, curated packages, and booking.

Objective of the assignment

Crave Locally is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and personable Venue Database, Partnerships & Booking Coordination Specialist to support the continued development and finalization of the Loudoun County venue database, coordinate with local tourism businesses and stakeholders, assist in creating visitor itineraries and packages, and support customer bookings.

This is not solely a research or data-entry role. The assignment requires someone who is comfortable speaking directly with venue owners, tourism partners, concierge teams, and customers — building relationships, asking questions, following up, and coordinating multiple parties to deliver a strong visitor experience.

  • Database research and quality assurance
  • In-person venue verification
  • Venue and partner outreach
  • Itinerary and package development
  • Booking fulfillment and customer coordination

Stage 1 — Primary data collection

Venue profiles are developed through structured desk research using public and online sources. Research covers core information across Crave Locally's database, including venue characteristics, amenities, visitor policies, family and pet suitability, accessibility, food and beverage offerings, activities, event capabilities, booking requirements, sustainability features, and other factors relevant to visitor decision-making.

Stage 2 — Site visits & verification

Selected venues are visited in person to confirm what desk research cannot: the feel of the place, seating and shade, accessibility in practice, how families and dogs are actually received, and the details that make an itinerary work on the day.

Qualifications & skills

  • Excellent research, fact-checking, and organizational skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work with structured data
  • Experience with Airtable, databases, CRM systems, spreadsheets, or similar tools
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Confidence speaking with business owners, hospitality professionals, tourism partners, and customers
  • Comfortable making phone calls, conducting outreach, asking follow-up questions, and building professional relationships
  • Strong customer-service orientation
  • Ability to coordinate multiple businesses and moving pieces simultaneously
  • Good judgment and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with Loudoun County, Northern Virginia, tourism, hospitality, wineries, farms, lodging, or agritourism is highly desirable
  • Ability to conduct site visits within Loudoun County
  • Reliable transportation for assignments requiring in-person visits

Working arrangement & compensation

The assignment combines remote research and database work, partner and customer communications, and targeted in-person venue visits within Loudoun County. Work will generally be organized around assigned venues, outreach priorities, customer requests, and package-development needs.

Compensation is $20 per hour. Scheduling is flexible, although some assignments may require availability during normal business hours, evenings, or weekends depending on venue operations, customer bookings, and scheduled site visits.

  • Structured venue database
  • Research and data definitions
  • Existing venue records
  • Site-visit questionnaires
  • Venue outreach and onboarding materials
  • Itinerary and package information
  • Booking and partner coordination materials

What you'll gain

  • Hands-on exposure to Loudoun County's tourism and agritourism ecosystem
  • Direct interaction with wineries, farms, lodging providers, hospitality businesses, and tourism stakeholders
  • Experience in tourism product and itinerary development
  • Experience supporting real customer bookings and visitor experiences
  • Opportunity to contribute to the development of a growing local tourism platform
  • Potential for continued work in venue partnerships, customer experience, business development, community engagement, or tourism operations as Crave Locally grows
